2020 NFL Power Rankings: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 12 roundup for the Bucs in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 9

Be thankful for: A team with a high ceiling. Bucs fans are probably feeling down in the dumps after a disappointing Monday night loss to the Rams. The offense scored just once on its final seven possessions, and Tom Brady threw a game-ending interception. The defense gave up 413 yards. But take a step back. The sky is not falling. Tampa is 7-4. The Buccaneers rank second in DVOA and are one of three teams to land in the top-10 on both offense and defense. This is a team that can win in different ways, and it's still possible that the Buccaneers emerge as the best team in the NFC when all is said and done.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 10

Tom Brady is struggling with the deep ball, and this team has the look of a wild-card team at best. The offense has to pick it up.

USA Today -- Rank: 5

Anyone noticed they've rushed for fewer than 90 yards in more than half their games? The passing weaponry is flashy but not nearly as lethal when the offense is so frequently unbalanced.

ESPN -- Rank: 6

What they're thankful for: QB Tom Brady

Who else? Did anyone think in a million years that Brady would choose a downtrodden franchise that hasn't been to the postseason since 2007 and hasn't won a playoff game since 2002? In 2020, he has led the Bucs to a 7-4 start for the first time since 2010 and helped reinstall a winning culture. They're far from a finished product, but few, if any, outwork Brady, whose impact can be seen everywhere -- from execution in the red zone to Byron Leftwich's playcalling and the performance of their young, but emerging, defense. -- Jenna Laine

NFL.com -- Rank: 6

The Buccaneers changed their practice routine, but the results remain the same. This time it was the Rams who took out the Bucs in prime time, dropping Bruce Arians' team to 1-3 under the lights this season. Tampa Bay put up a fight Monday, looking nothing like the team that was outclassed by the Saints earlier this month on Sunday Night Football. Still, the Bucs weren't sharp enough against the Rams and that starts with Tom Brady, who threw two bad interceptions and was generally not as precise as he needed to be throughout the night. Credit L.A.'s front seven for putting pressure on Brady, but games like these were a major reason why the quarterback got that $50 million contract. The Bucs are paying for vintage Brady, but they're not always getting it.
