2020 NFL Power Rankings: Atlanta Falcons

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Atlanta Falcons rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 12 roundup for the Falcons in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 17

Be thankful for: A fresh start. Things have felt so stale with the Falcons. They had back-to-back 7-9 seasons and are 3-7 in 2020. But in six weeks or so, they'll decide on a new head coach and a new general manager. Falcons fans will talk themselves into a new culture being the difference in 2021. The pieces are in place for a prolific offense with Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Plus they might have a last-place schedule. This has been a painful season for Falcons fans, but it's almost over.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 22

They had major offensive line issues against the Saints, which has been a problem for way too long. They are done.

USA Today -- Rank: 18

WR Calvin Ridley is on course to be their first leading receiver not named Julio Jones since ... Harry Douglas in 2013.

ESPN -- Rank: 25

What they're thankful for: WR health (when they can get it)

Julio Jones was limited again by a hamstring injury throughout Sunday's loss at New Orleans -- yet another reminder of how valuable his health is to the Falcons' fortunes (Jones has 20 catches for 328 yards and three TDs this season). When Jones and Calvin Ridley are healthy, Atlanta would put its WR duo against any in the league. -- Mike Triplett

NFL.com -- Rank: 20

Pass protection continues to be a problem for the Falcons. Matt Ryan was sacked eight times in Sunday's loss to the Saints and is on pace to be sacked 43 times this season. Last year, Ryan was taken down a career-high 48 times. Not exactly the results you expect from a line starting five former first-round picks. In fairness to the blockers up front, the Saints did stellar work in the secondary, as well, locking down Atlanta receivers on a day Julio Jones missed extended action with a hamstring issue. The Falcons were simply throttled by one of the best teams in football. It's just a bit more annoying when that team happens to be your bitter rival.
