2020 NFL Power Rankings: Cleveland Browns

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Cleveland Browns rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a post-NFL Draft roundup for the Browns in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 23

The biggest problem with the Browns last season was pretty clear, and the once-again overhauled front office knew it: They needed to come out of the offseason with better offensive tackles. Enter Jack Conklin in free agency and first-round pick Jedrick Wills, otherwise known as Baker Mayfield's two new best friends.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 22

Getting two tackles in the offseason was the right thing to do. There are no more excuses for the offense and Baker Mayfield.

USA Today -- Rank: 26

New GM Andrew Berry, 33, followed strong showing in free agency with sneaky good draft. Question now is how long will it take rookie coach Kevin Stefanski to implement his playbook and a new locker room vibe for a team that likely won't convene for months?

ESPN -- Rank: 20

Player who benefited: It has to be QB Baker Mayfield, right? In selecting OT Jedrick Wills Jr. with the No. 10 pick, the Browns believe they've solved their issues protecting Mayfield's blind side. No AFC QB was sacked more often per pass attempt than Mayfield last season. In adding Wills and right tackle Jack Conklin in free agency, the Browns figure to be among the league's most improved teams at protecting their QB. -- Jake Trotter

NFL.com -- Rank: 19

It's all there for Baker Mayfield. The Browns' talented crop of playmakers got better with the addition of tight end Austin Hooper in free agency. The offensive line got a much-needed makeover at tackle with the arrival of free-agent acquisition Jack Conklin and first-round pick Jedrick Wills. The obvious holes are gone, and so are the excuses for Mayfield, who disappointed mightily in 2019 after a record-setting rookie campaign. Give the Browns credit: They still believe in Mayfield's potential, and they have done everything they can -- from coaching hires to roster moves -- to put the former No. 1 overall pick in a position to succeed. Now all Mayfield has to do is ... make the leap.
