Las Vegas Raiders Mock Draft Roundup 6.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, we will update our Las Vegas Raiders Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Las Vegas Raiders from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Raiders:

EDSFootball - Hanson (3/5)

17. Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami (FL)

Only three teams generated fewer sacks in 2020 than the Raiders (21). A former high school receiver and safety, Rousseau has outstanding length and was second in the nation in sacks (15.5) in 2019 behind only Ohio State's Chase Young (16.5) before opting out of the 2020 season.

ESPN - McShay (3/4)

17. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

The Raiders' defense allowed 389.1 yards per game last season, the eighth most in the NFL. They managed all of 21 sacks and were gutted for 4.6 yards allowed per carry. They need pass-rushers, linemen, defensive backs and linebackers, and while Owusu-Koramoah will play only one position, he can impact multiple facets of the game. Look for him in the overhang role, dropping in coverage or rushing the QB. He has speed, instincts, suddenness and plenty of strength.

Paul Gutierrez on his fit with the Raiders: Owusu-Koramoah is the dynamic second-level defender that Las Vegas has been lacking. New defensive coordinator Gus Bradley will find a way to use his versatility in his 4-3 base scheme alongside Nick Kwiatkoski and Cory Littleton, even if Littleton and Owusu-Koramoah are both Will linebackers. It's a good problem for Bradley to have.

CBS Sports - Trapasso (3/3)

17. Christian Barmore, IDL, Alabama

Barmore is a tall and powerful Alabama defensive lineman with flashes of top-15 talent with his hands.

The Athletic - Beat Writers (3/1)

17. Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami (FL)

The Raiders were taking either Paye or Rousseau, forget this best-player-available nonsense. They need a pass rusher badly, and Rousseau is 6-foot-7, 265 pounds with speed, power, good hands and bend. He had 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss in 2019 while learning a new position -- he was a safety and receiver in high school and then put on 30 pounds -- and his high motor shows on the tape. Rousseau opted out of the 2020 season due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus. Touchdown Wire - Farrar (2/26)

17. Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan

Last season, the Raiders ranked 28th in Defensive DVOA, which led to the firing of defensive coordinator Paul Guenther, and the hire of Gus Bradley to replace him. Historically, Bradley has preferred fairly static four-man fronts with a ton of zone coverage, and if that's going to work in Las Vegas, the Raiders are going to have to add pass-rushers who can win without schematic help. In 2020, the Raiders had just 21 sacks and 255 pressures, which did not get the job done.

Paye is still a bit rough from a technique standpoint, but you can't teach his athleticism, and he can win from every gap. Throughout his three-year stint with the Wolverines, he has been tasked to line up everywhere from the edge to nose shade, and his 22 total pressures in just 138 pass-rushing snaps in 2020 prove the potential.

NFL.com - Casserly (2/25)

17. Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC

He's the best guard in the draft, but the more you watch the film, the more you ask, "Why can't he play left tackle?"

MLive.com - Meinke (2/25)

17. Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami (FL)

Las Vegas is desperate for a pass-rusher too, and opts for the mountainous Rousseau here. Standing 6-foot-7 and 265 pounds, Rousseau hit defensive linemen with a nasty combination of power and speed moves to rack up 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss in 2019. He opted out of 2020.

San Diego Union Tribune (2/24)

17. Trevon Moehrig, S, TCU

For as much draft capital as the Raiders have spent recently on their defense, you'd expect better results by now. There have been flashes, but nothing concrete yet. The secondary, especially, has been atrocious. Moehrig's skillset is scheme-proof. He's a hard hitter who led all safeties in pass breakups in each of the past two seasons.
