New Orleans Saints Mock Draft Roundup 7.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, we will update our New Orleans Saints Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the New Orleans Saints from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Saints:

EDSFootball - Donahue (3/23)

28. Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Now that Drew Brees has officially retired, the Saints will move forward with Jameis Winston and/or Taysom Hill. It would probably be best to try and give the offense easy throws/decisions and Toney, although a bit undersized, is an explosive, quick-twitch athlete, who not only caught 70 passes for 984 yards and 10 TDs but also ran the ball 19 times for 8.5 yards per carry. He should be able to make the New Orleans quarterback's life easier as a moveable piece in the Sean Payron offense.

NFL.com - Brooks (3/23)

28. Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa

The ultra-versatile Collins would give the Saints a dynamic second-level defender with pass-rush skills.

The Athletic - Beat Writers (3/23)

28. Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia

There has to be some serious thought given here to Alabama quarterback Mac Jones without a sure thing at QB on the roster, and yet it's hard to ignore the hole left at cornerback after the release of Janoris Jenkins. The Saints struck gold with Marshon Lattimore in the first round of the 2017 draft, and with limited funds to address the position in free agency in a long-term way this year, this draft might be their best bet to groom another young starter next to him. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Campbell would bring size and speed to the Saints secondary. -- Katherine Terrell

ESPN - Kiper (3/22)

28. Tutu Atwell, WR, Louisville

The Saints are another cash-strapped team that must build its roster through the draft, and they lost some serious talent in free agency. The list below doesn't even including future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees, who retired earlier this month. With Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill battling for the QB1 spot, let's add a playmaker around whomever wins the starting spot. The 5-foot-9 Atwell reminds me a little bit of former first-round pick Marquise Brown, who has flashed in two seasons with the Ravens. Atwell is explosive and could be used on jet sweeps. He is dynamic with the ball in his hands. Line him up outside and in the slot, and get him the ball.

CBS Sports - Wilson (3/22)

28. Asante Samuel Jr., CB, Florida State

Samuel may only be listed at 5-foot-10, but he doesn't play like it. He compares his game to the similarly sized Jaire Alexander, and for us he's a younger, more physical Janoris Jenkins, who was released last week.

PFF - Renner (3/22)

21. Greg Newsome, CB, Northwestern

Old Mickey Loomis isn't going to change his stripes anytime soon. They go up and get "their guy" across from Marshon Lattimore after Janoris Jenkinsā€˜ release. The Saints are yet another team that sees the success of the Bucs' strategy within the division.
