2020 NFL Power Rankings: Buffalo Bills

Throughout the 2020 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Buffalo Bills rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 13 roundup for the Bills in our consensus 2020 NFL Power Rankings.

The Athletic -- Rank: 10

Exceeding expectations: Sean McDermott's team is in first place in the AFC East and has logged impressive wins over opponents like the Rams and Seahawks. Of their three losses, one was against the Chiefs and another was on a Hail Mary against the Cardinals. McDermott consistently puts his players in positions to succeed, and the defense is fundamentally sound and improving.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 6

It wasn't pretty against the Chargers, but the defense was better. That's big going forward. They face a tough road game against the 49ers Monday night.

USA Today -- Rank: 6

In a quirky twist of COVID-19 ramifications, they'll be back in Arizona -- site of their "Hail Murray" fail -- Monday to face Niners.

ESPN -- Rank: 5

Most important game remaining: Week 14 vs. Pittsburgh

The Bills are in good position to win their first AFC East title since 1995, but have faltered against the best teams in their conference this season. With Pittsburgh coming into town possibly still undefeated, it will be a prime opportunity for Buffalo to throw its hat in the ring of conference title contenders against arguably the best team in the NFL on "Sunday Night Football." The Steelers' defense also will provide a challenging litmus test for the Bills' upstart passing offense. -- Marcel Louis-Jacques

NFL.com -- Rank: 7

The Bills turned the ball over three times in the span of seven offensive plays during Sunday's fourth quarter and lived to tell the tale. Call it a karmic recalibration two weeks after the infamous Hail Murray. Let's also give credit to Buffalo's defense, which allowed just three points total in the three Chargers possessions that followed those turnovers. The Bills talked during the bye week about getting their running game going, and we saw that on Sunday: Buffalo rushed for 172 yards at 5.7 yards per carry. Devin Singletary (82) and Zack Moss (59) combined to go over 100 yards for just the second time this year. The Bills are 8-3 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1995-96.
