Prediction we missed: Josh Allen would thrive as a pass-rusher in the 3-4.
Allen played outside linebacker in college and was the SEC's Defensive Player of the Year with 17 sacks in 2018. But the move from stand-up defensive end (where he played his first two seasons with the Jaguars) to outside linebacker hasn't resulted in more sacks. Allen has 2.5 sacks through six games, which puts him on pace for seven this season. He had 10.5 sacks in his rookie year, when he played with Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue, but Allen certainly doesn't have that kind of help on the other side now. Though Allen is also dropping into coverage more than before, the expectation was that he'd make a bigger impact as a rusher in 2021, but that hasn't happened. -- Mike DiRocco

Trevor Lawrence hasn't taken the NFL by storm after coming into the league as the most heralded rookie QB since Andrew Luck, but the arrow is definitely pointing up for the No. 1 overall pick. Lawrence made several big plays in leading the Jaguars to their first win of the season two Sundays ago in London, and he has shown steady week-to-week improvement. His gains against an NFL pass rush were evident against the Dolphins: According to Next Gen Stats, Lawrence threw for 117 yards when pressured in Week 6. He had just 276 yards total when under duress in Jacksonville's first five games. The kid can play.
CBS Sports -- Rank: 28
They come off their bye with a long trip to Seattle. But after winning two weeks ago, the young team might be gaining some confidence. Not facing Russell Wilson is a big break.
USA Today -- Rank: 28
Lawrence seems to be quietly figuring out pro game, completing 66.3% of his passes and posting 93.8 QB rating over his past three outings. A date with Seattle's secondary should keep the arrow trending up.
The Athletic -- Rank: 29
Trick or treat: Want a treat? Read the story about Jags defensive lineman Dawuane Smoot delivering his daughter, Ahlani, at home, while on the phone with 911, after his wife's labor advanced too quickly for them to get to the hospital. It's a happy bye-week story.
