2023 NFL Power Rankings: New York Giants

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 13 roundup for the New York Giants in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 29

The Giants' offense has been a problem from the jump, when it was shut out in the opener. It really hasn't gotten much better. It is averaging a league-low 13.3 points per game and onto its third-string undrafted rookie quarterback. But no stat represents its struggles more than the 69 sacks allowed. That is 14 more than any other team. The Giants are 26th in pass block win rate (51.3%) and 31st in run block win rate (68.2%) this season. Combine that with subpar offensive targets and unspectacular quarterback play, and you have the league's worst offense. -- Jordan Raanan

The Giants finally had a player top 100 receiving yards in a game this season! All it took was 12 weeks and three different quarterbacks. On Sunday, Jalin Hyatt crossed the century mark while catching passes from Tommy DeVito against the Patriots -- scenes from August reprised in late November. The two rookies stood tall, helping deliver a second straight victory amid a season of disappointment. Even taking into account the fluctuatons at QB this year, Hyatt's production has been a bit scattershot, but he can change a game with just a few grabs. Now, the question is whether Brian Daboll sticks with the improving DeVito or goes back to Tyrod Taylor, who can come off injured reserve in Week 14. That likely will be the talk of the Week 13 bye, which is a far better scenario than most 4-8 teams face.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 29

They won an ugly one against a bad Patriots team, but they'll take it. The defense is getting better.

USA Today -- Rank: 28

Seems like barely five minutes ago when they would barely let Tommy DeVito throw. All of a sudden, he's the first undrafted rookie in the common-draft era (since 1967) to have a passer rating of at least 100.0 in consecutive starts. Certainly didn't hurt that fellow frosh WR Jalin Hyatt got his most targets (6) of the season.

The Athletic -- Rank: 25

Best case: Stop winning

Tommy DeVito has more passing touchdowns (seven) than Zach Wilson and Kenny Pickett (six each) this season. DeVito, the undrafted free agent who is living with his parents, has started the last three games, and New York has won two of them. The problem is that has cost them valuable draft positioning. They now sit sixth in the order. The good news is they still have to play the Eagles twice.

FOX -- Rank: 27

Maybe the Giants are hurting their draft stock in the long run, but we'll always have this fun stretch of Tommy DeVito memes to think back on. Seriously, though: for the sake of their draft prospects, Brian Daboll had better not get too cute and try to win many more games.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 29

Tommy DeVito has played well the past two weeks. He looked horrible in his first two games but it has been a complete turnaround since. That probably says something about Brian Daboll's ability as an offensive coach. If DeVito continues to play well, he could parlay this stretch into a long career as a backup, and if it's good enough maybe even get another shot to start.

PFT -- Rank: 27

"Fuhgetabout it" sums up this season perfectly.
