2021 NFL Power Rankings: Los Angeles Rams

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Los Angeles Rams rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 4 roundup for the Rams in our consensus 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 1

Matthew Stafford is off to a blazing start in L.A., leading the Rams to a 3-0 record and passing for nine touchdowns, including three of more than 50 yards. "He's playing lights out," said Aaron Donald, the Rams' three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Stafford's nine passing touchdowns are tied with Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner (1999) for the most through three games in Rams history. "He pushed it down the field so easily," Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians said after Stafford dismantled their defense in Week 3. "You're right up in his face one time, he finds a guy wide open down the field and gets it to him. A lot of guys, they see it but they can't get it to him. He's a special player." -- Lindsey Thiry

NFL.com -- Rank: 1

The marriage between Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford remains firmly in the honeymoon phase. Stafford shredded the Bucs for four touchdown passes in a surprisingly easy 34-24 win over the defending champs at rocking SoFi Stadium. Tom Brady threw for more than 400 yards in his first-ever game played in Los Angeles, but the Rams stuffed the Tampa run game and clamped down on Brady in the fourth quarter to close out another win. Yes, the Matthew Stafford Revitalization Project has yet to encounter an issue: Stafford's nine touchdown passes are tied for the most by a Rams quarterback in the first three games of a season. Los Angeles has the coaching and personnel to be elite on both sides of the ball -- when they put it together, it's a lethal combination.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 1

Sean McVay has the offense clicking, but Raheem Morris is really doing a nice job with the defense. The preseason hype about them seems valid now.

USA Today -- Rank: 1

With Sean McVay's crew now 2-0 against Tom Brady's Bucs, the road to Super Bowl 56 in Los Angeles might literally go through LA if these teams line up again in the playoffs.

The Athletic -- Rank: 1

Surprise! Matthew Stafford is a legit early-season MVP candidate. We aren't shocked that the Stafford-Sean McVay pairing is working, but we're impressed it's working this well this soon. Stafford is averaging just over 10 yards per attempt and his passing chart shows completions all over the field, from left sideline to right and every depth of target from screens to deep posts. His nine passing touchdowns are one behind Tom Brady, and tied with Patrick Mahomes, but he has fewer interceptions (just one) than both of them.
