Week 1 stats: 10 receptions for 119 yards

The rookie impressed in his debut in Seattle, as his 119 receiving yards were the most in a rookie debut in team history. Along with receiver Tutu Atwell, Nacua helped make up for the production the Rams were missing from Cooper Kupp, who is on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. Kupp will miss at least the next three games, so Nacua will have an opportunity to continue that success early in the season. -- Sarah Barshop

Sean McVay delivered a relative masterpiece of found art, if you will, leading a Cooper Kupp-less offense to a fairly dominant performance that saw the Rams control the ball for nearly 40 minutes with long, sustained drives -- and a few out-of-character wrinkles, to boot. Without Kupp, Los Angeles opted for more gap runs and power plays, and though 37 handoffs only netted 81 rush yards, the ground game served its purpose: keeping the Seahawks' offense off the field. The Rams also found a pretty good Kupp doppelganger in rookie Puka Nacua, who had 10 catches (on 15 targets) for 119 yards, including a diving grab on the sideline to help ice the game late. Defeating Seattle might have been a stunning result, but don't forget that this McVay guy can coach a little.

Give Sean McVay credit for guiding his young team to an upset road victory at Seattle. The defense played well.

WR Cooper Kupp is on injured reserve. Naturally, HC Sean McVay drilled down the depth chart and coaxed 119-yard receiving days out of both Tutu Atwell and rookie Puka Nacua in Sunday's win at Seattle.

Sean McVay will be coaching in Los Angeles until he's 60 at this rate. Puka Nacua, a fifth-round pick out of BYU, became one of only five players in NFL history with 10 or more catches in his NFL debut (10 for 119 yards). Tutu Atwell added 119 receiving yards.

This league, man. There was no more shocking result than Rams 30, Seahawks 13 — in Seattle! And while Matthew Stafford deserves heaps of praise for turning back the clock in a 334-yard performance, don't forget about Aaron Donald and his guys. For all the Seattle's offensive firepower, the Seahawks managed one first down and no points after halftime.

Puka Nacua had a ridiculous debut. The fifth-round pick had 10 catches and 119 yards. He's the fourth player in NFL history to have 10 catches and 100 yards in his first NFL game, via ESPN Stats and Info. It would be huge for a retooling Rams team if Nacua is a draft steal and not a one-game wonder.

If Matthew Stafford can stay healthy, they could steal a wild-card spot.
