2021 NFL Power Rankings: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 16 roundup for the Bucs in our consensus 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 3

How hot is Bruce Arians' seat: 1. Cold seat

The Bucs' offense might have gone absolutely nowhere in Tampa Bay's 9-0 home loss to the Saints on Sunday night, but Arians is just one season removed from a Super Bowl title, and Tom Brady is putting up some of the best numbers of his career at age 44. As much as the coaching staff deserve blame for the implosion against the Saints, they also deserve a ton of credit for helping this team win 10 games despite being decimated in the secondary. -- Jenna Laine

NFL.com -- Rank: 3

Sometimes the Football Gods throw us a curveball just to keep us off the scent. The defending champion Bucs limped to a 9-0 loss to the Saints on Sunday Night Football, putting the team's hopes for a playoff bye in serious doubt. Mike Evans (hamstring), Chris Godwin (knee) and Leonard Fournette (hamstring) all exited with injuries, leaving Tom Brady in a vulnerable and frustrating situation. Brady struggled without his key playmakers, committing two turnovers in his first shutout loss in over 15 years. Bad news got worse on Monday when further tests revealed a torn ACL for Godwin. The impending return of Antonio Brown has become a necessity for an offense suddenly searching for answers.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 5

They never have answers for New Orleans with Tom Brady. The receiver injuries are concerning going forward, especially losing Chris Godwin for the year.

USA Today -- Rank: 3

The loss of WR Chris Godwin to a torn ACL is hardly a season killer. With so many other Tampa Bay playmakers hobbled, the intervening adjustment period might hinder the reigning champs' shot at NFC's top playoff seed -- though playing Carolina twice and the Jets once, the league's easiest remaining schedule, might also pave the way to home-field advantage.

The Athletic -- Rank: 4

Our gift to you: What do you give the superstar quarterback who has everything? (I mean, have you seen his boat? Tom Brady has everything.) Well, we'll start with a new Surface tablet. Then we'll see if Santa can use his magic to change the trade-deadline rules and put a new receiver under the tree for Christmas.
