2021 NFL Power Rankings: Atlanta Falcons

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Atlanta Falcons rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 7 roundup for the Falcons in our consensus 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 26

There's a little more confidence now than in Week 1, because there were so many unknowns heading into the season -- and then there was the meltdown that was Week 1. But the Falcons have shown signs of improvement and correcting mistakes from one week to the next. And this season, as much as it might be dictated by wins and losses, is about building and growth for setting up long-term, sustained success. That seems like it's starting to happen. -- Michael Rothstein

NFL.com -- Rank: 25

Kyle Pitts enjoyed his long-awaited breakout game in Week 5 against the Jets -- now comes the time for Arthur Smith to get his rookie tight end sensation humming at the same time as Atlanta's already established receiving star. Through four games (he missed the Falcons' fifth game due to a personal issue), Calvin Ridley has turned 42 targets into just 27 catches for 255 yards and one touchdown. With Julio Jones gone, the Falcons' offense needs Ridley to play at the elite level he established in 2020. Pitts' rise can only help Ridley get his season into gear.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 25

The Falcons come off their bye with a game against Miami. Health has been a major problem for them early, but some of their wounded will be coming back soon.

USA Today -- Rank: 26

WRs Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage appear ready to return to a 20th-ranked offense that can use the reinforcements.

The Athletic -- Rank: 26

Rookie Heat Check: The unicorn finally showed his horn in Week 5 against the Jets. Tight end Kyle Pitts notched his first 100-yard performance, going off for 119 yards and one touchdown on nine catches. Wow. Now, can he bring that consistently on the other side of the bye?
