2022 NFL Power Rankings: Green Bay Packers

Throughout the 2022 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 6 roundup for the Green Bay Packers in our consensus 2022 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 8

Chance to make the playoffs: 91.0%
Chance to win their division: 64.7%

Neither Matt LaFleur nor defensive coordinator Joe Barry is playing to the Packers' strengths right now. LaFleur, the offensive playcaller, and Aaron Rodgers, who has the RPO freedom at the line of scrimmage, have skewed away from the run when it should be one of Green Bay's strengths with backs like Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. And Barry, with the talent he has on defense, should be able to hold a two-touchdown lead like the Packers had Sunday against a Giants team that was missing its top three receivers. If the Packers address these areas, they might not have to worry about whether they will be in the playoffs.

On paper, the Packers would appear to have a dominant defense. But that's not what we've seen on the field this season. For the second straight week, Green Bay failed to make key stops against an offense compromised by injuries. The Packers survived a scare from Bailey Zappe and the Patriots in Week 4, but Brian Daboll's Giants made them pay with a humbling loss in London. It's not all on the D. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' offense were shut out in the second half and continue to search for their big-play identity in a post-Davante world. Per NFL Media research, Rodgers finished 0-for-6 on deep attempts of at least 20 air yards.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 9

They just don't have the look of a deep-playoff team. The passing game is limited and the defense has been worse than expected. They need to pick it up soon.

USA Today -- Rank: 9

Despite the Giants' struggles throwing the ball, Green Bay was carved up by battered QB Daniel Jones in the second half of Sunday's defeat in London. The Pack could and should be a better all-around team in 2022 but likely need to run more, definitely need better defensive performances and a few more deep connections from reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers would be nice, too.

The Athletic -- Rank: 12

Trade idea: Patriots wide receiver Nelson Agholor

The Packers could really use a Davante Adams-type to unlock their offense, but players of that quality become available so rarely. Instead, let's import Agholor, who suffered a minor hamstring injury in the Patriots' win over the Lions and dropped a pass that led to an interception. Agholor seems to be falling down the depth chart below Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick Bourne, Tyquan Thornton and DeVante Parker and would cost next to nothing for the Packers. On defense, the Packers are in the market for a backbone after allowing scoring drives on the Giants' final five real possessions in their stunning London loss.

The Ringer -- Rank: 11

What happened to the Packers' explosive plays? Aaron Rodgers's average time to throw (2.44 seconds) is the fourth-fastest in the NFL, and an NFL-high 62 percent of his passing yards have come after the catch. He also ranks fifth in percentage of passing yards coming on throws made within 2.5 seconds of the snap (58 percent). All of this means the Packers are too reliant on quick, shallow concepts. That's not going to get it done, even with a Hall of Fame talent at quarterback.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 7

We hadn't been paying enough attention to the Packers defense being just OK this season. They'd won three in a row and any questions usually had to do with the receiver position. After a one-dimensional Giants team beat them in London, there are more questions about why a Packers defense that looked great on paper coming into the season hasn't been as good as advertised. That's a huge factor for the Packers if they want to be a championship contender, because their offense isn't going to be elite.

PFT -- Rank: 9

At tea time in London, did Aaron pour himself some ayahuasca?
