2021 NFL Power Rankings: Jacksonville Jaguars

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Jacksonville Jaguars rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 15 roundup for the Jaguars in our consensus 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 30

The offense has been a mess since the team's bye week, and the defense has had to be perfect to even give the Jaguars a chance to win. That happened once -- a 9-6 upset of Buffalo, in which the offense managed just three field goals -- but the defense doesn't have the personnel to play at that high of a level every week. QB Trevor Lawrence hasn't played well, but he hasn't been helped by his pass-catchers (24 drops is the second most in the NFL) or RB James Robinson's lengthy benching for fumbling. Since beating Miami 23-20 in London to snap a 20-game losing streak, the Jaguars are averaging just 9.1 points over their past seven games. -- Mike DiRocco

I don't know if there's a case quite like Urban Meyer's in NFL history. A college coach with a legendary résumé makes the jump to the pros on a massive contract and immediately floods the entire organization with a tsunami of toxicity. Sure, we've seen esteemed college coaches flop in the league plenty of times before, but Meyer's case is shaping up as the masterpiece of this particular genre -- the Mona Lisa of malfeasance. With Trevor Lawrence struggling and serious unrest behind the scenes, Jaguars owner Shad Khan is facing a painful decision that would've seemed inconceivable to him less than 12 months ago.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 32

This thing has gone bad in a big way and the Urban Meyer stories aren't helping. They are wrecking Trevor Lawrence, who has regressed this season.

USA Today -- Rank: 32

Rookie QB Trevor Lawrence failed to throw a TD pass in a game twice at Clemson. He's tripled that figure this year in Jacksonville, which just suffered its first shutout in 12 years. But, please, don't blame Urban Meyer.

The Athletic -- Rank: 32

Worst-case scenario: Urban Meyer meets with owner Shad Khan the day after Trevor Lawrence throws his 21st interception in the Jaguars' 14th and final loss of the season. Khan tells Meyer that, after much thought, he's decided to retain him for another year. The news makes Meyer slump his shoulders. He appears disappointed by the prospect of another season in Jacksonville, and he tells Khan there's something he must get off his chest. "I am the leaker," Meyer says. "Are you sure you don't want to fire me?"
