2021 NFL Power Rankings: Seattle Seahawks

Throughout the 2021 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Here is where the Seattle Seahawks rank in terms of average, best and worst:

Below you will find a Week 10 roundup for the Seahawks in our consensus 2021 NFL Power Rankings.

ESPN -- Rank: 21

Bold second-half prediction: The Seahawks will finish the regular season with nine wins.

Nine wins would tie for fewest under Russell Wilson, but it would mark an impressive turnaround from the Seahawks' 2-5 start -- and it could be enough to squeeze into the NFC's final playoff spot. At 3-5, the Seahawks would need to go 6-3 the rest of the way to finish 9-8. They could be favored in at least five of those nine remaining games: Washington, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago and Detroit. If they win all those, they'd then have to win one of their tougher matchups: Green Bay, the Rams or either of two games vs. Arizona. Sunday's game at Green Bay looks much more winnable than it did two weeks ago with Wilson cleared to return and Aaron Rodgers' status uncertain. -- Brady Henderson

NFL.com -- Rank: 19

Geno Smith lit up the Jaguars in Week 8, giving the Seahawks some necessary positive vibes as they went into their Week 9 bye. Now the hope is that Russell Wilson will return to action and put together a win streak that gets Seattle back into the postseason picture. As expected, the Seahawks mostly struggled during the time their franchise star was on the mend from finger surgery, dropping three of four games in which Wilson missed some or all of the action. Smith did a great job powering the offense through DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett in the blowout win over Jacksonville, and it's a game plan that should continue going forward. If the Seahawks don't Let Russ Cook now, they'll be preparing their own meals from home when the playoffs arrive.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 18

They will have Russell Wilson back this week, which is a must if they are to have any playoff chances. The bye came at a good time, but now they face a real challenge against the Packers on the road.

USA Today -- Rank: 19

Despite QB Russell Wilson's three-game absence, they find themselves one game back for the NFC's final wild card with Wilson set to return Sunday. Nice work, Geno.

The Athletic -- Rank: 20

Are they good? The Seahawks were objectively bad the past month, with losses to the Rams, Steelers and Saints, and one win at home against the Jaguars. Geno Smith started three of those games. We know the Seahawks are a different team when quarterbacked by Russell Wilson, and he'll be back this week against Green Bay. But Wilson's return doesn't necessarily make the Seahawks NFC contenders. They still have plenty of issues, especially a defense that ranks 23rd in defensive DVOA (Football Outsiders) and is tied for 29th (with the Lions) in sacks, with just 14.
