2023 NFL Power Rankings: Chicago Bears

Throughout the 2023 NFL season, we will compile a consensus NFL Power Rankings that averages the rankings of all 32 NFL teams.

Below you will find a Week 6 roundup for the Chicago Bears in our consensus 2023 NFL Power Rankings.

Fantasy surprise: WR DJ Moore

In theory, this shouldn't be a surprise. The Bears brought Moore in to elevate Chicago's offense. He should be getting double-digit targets a game, but the fact that he's second in fantasy points scored after the struggles this passing game went through in three of its first five games is the best outcome any fantasy owner could have hoped for. Moore exploded for 230 receiving yards and three touchdowns against Washington and has a chance for another big outing against Minnesota's 22nd-ranked pass defense. -- Courtney Cronin

Thursday's rousing victory was a bolt out the blue, but it did continue some of the offensive gains made in most of the loss to the Broncos, so there's evidence that things are developing on that side of the ball. Justin Fields now has enjoyed back-to-back banner games, and DJ Moore's emergence gives Chicago a tangible strength. That said, the offensive line and backfield have issues, and the defense still needs to make strides, even after a mostly good performance at Washington. The good news is that the Bears have two straight home games against teams they can match up with (Vikings and Raiders) and they should get healthier in the secondary, with Eddie Jackson, Jaylon Johnson and Kyler Gordon set to return at some point.

CBS Sports -- Rank: 24

Two good weeks in a row for Justin Fields is a great indicator going forward. The Bears looked good in blowing out the Commanders.

USA Today -- Rank: 26

The Justin Fields-to-DJ Moore Show has sparked Chicago's revival. But look closer, and you'll also note a running game averaging better than 170 yards the past two weeks and some encouraging signs of life on defense at Washington. The schedule also suggests Da Bears could easily be a .500 team from here on out.

The Athletic -- Rank: 27

There's DJ Moore. The wide receiver Chicago got as part of the package for the No. 1 pick that became Bryce Young for Carolina had eight catches for 230 yards Thursday against Washington. He had 300 in the first four games of the season. Not coincidentally, Justin Fields had four touchdown passes and a 125.3 passer rating. The two best single-game passer ratings of Fields' career have come in the last two weeks. Rookie first-round offensive tackle Darnell Wright has played every snap and showed some promise.

FOX -- Rank: 29

Where would we be with the Bears if they had even approached this level of play in the first month of the season? They're still a very flawed team, but they'd absolutely have a chance at a winning record had Justin Fields played this well for five weeks, instead of two. We'll see where it goes from here, but I'm intrigued.

Yahoo! -- Rank: 29

Justin Fields is going to make things interesting for the Bears. He has 617 yards and eight touchdowns over the past two weeks. It's hard to imagine the Bears would pass on Caleb Williams if they end up with the top overall draft pick, though Chicago has already experienced the boon from a trade down from the No. 1 pick. At least Fields is making it a conversation.

PFT -- Rank: 26

Can they string two wins together?
