Philadelphia Eagles Mock Draft Roundup 6.0

Throughout the year and leading up to the 2021 NFL draft, we will update our Philadelphia Eagles Mock Draft Roundup showing picks for the Philadelphia Eagles from several prominent sites and draft analysts.

The following are picks in recent mock drafts for the Eagles:

EDSFootball - Hanson (3/5)

6. Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

Waddle is one of the most explosive athletes in the draft and is dynamic in the open field. With Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs off to the NFL in 2020, Waddle started the year with four 100-yard games before breaking his ankle. In fact, Waddle (557 receiving yards) outproduced DeVonta Smith (483) through the first four games of the season. It's certainly possible that the Eagles brass have Waddle ranked higher than Smith on their board.

ESPN - McShay (3/4)

6. Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

Despite the Eagles' glaring weakness at wide receiver, I'm mixing it up with Pitts at No. 6. It'd be the 10th time a tight end has been drafted before the first wide receiver off the board, and only four other tight ends have ever been taken in the top six. But here's the thing: Pitts is more than just a tight end. He's a matchup nightmare who can line up all over the place, and his great speed, hands and 6-foot-6 size make him extremely difficult to contain. Philadelphia should add receiver help in free agency, but a Pitts-Dallas Goedert pairing is a dream for any offensive coordinator.

Tim McManus on his fit with the Eagles: With Zach Ertz expected to be traded or released, Pitts would immediately assume a co-starter role alongside Goedert. The Eagles used two-tight end sets a league-high 35% of the time last season -- a number that would skyrocket toward their 2019 totals (52%) with Pitts in the fold.

CBS Sports - Trapasso (3/3)

6. Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

Let's see how the Jalen Hurts experiment goes in Philadelphia. He'll have a nice collection of young and fast receivers if this is the pick on draft night.

The Athletic - Beat Writers (3/1)

6. Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon

The Eagles would have likely pounced on one of the top three quarterbacks or top two wide receivers. In fact, they'd probably be a trade-down candidate at this point. But if this is what the board looks like at No. 6 and they're making the pick, the Eagles would have a hard time passing up a potential blue-chip left tackle even though they have two options (Jordan Mailata and 2019 first-round pick Andre Dillard) at the position. The Eagles are a roster in transition, and the organizational priority is building along the lines. Sewell is the second-ranked player on the Big Board of The Athletic's draft expert Dane Brugler. Mailata and Dillard might be promising, but that's not the reason to pass on Sewell. Trey Lance (yes, another North Dakota State quarterback) and Kyle Pitts (a Philadelphia native) were also under consideration. -- Zach Berman

Touchdown Wire - Farrar (2/26)

6. Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

New Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has quite the challenge as his new team rebuilds on both sides of the ball, and the obvious issue is getting whoever replaces Carson Wentz past all the problems Wentz faced that were not of his own making. An uncertain receiver corps is certainly among the primary issues, so let's give Coach an easy answer in Pitts, perhaps the most obvious matchup nightmare in this draft class.

Pardon his reach, indeed. Watching Pitts body defenders, display a ridiculous catch radius, and create when the play has broken down brings to mind how Travis Kelce completes the Chiefs' offense, and Pitts could have an immediate similar impact in any offense -- even an offense that is very much under construction. And if you need a deep threat? Pitts caught 10 passes on 17 targets of 20 or more air yards last season for 335 yards and five touchdowns. He's the kind of player you can build a passing game around from Day 1.

NFL.com - Casserly (2/25)

6. DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama

With the Eagles moving on from DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery this offseason, the team needs to add another pass catcher.

MLive.com - Meinke (2/25)

6. Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

There are two types of teams in the NFL: Those who have a franchise quarterback, and those who are looking for one. Sure, Philadelphia just spent a second-round pick on Jalen Hurts last year, but did he really look like the guy? With a new head coach in place and a top-six pick in the draft, now is the perfect time to hit the reset button with a monster talent. There is some risk with Lance, given where he played his college ball, and how little of it he played -- attempting just 318 passes in 17 starts -- but he has size, athleticism and arm talent to change a game. He's not making it outside the top 10.

San Diego Union Tribune (2/24)

6. Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

Is it me or does it seem like the Eagles are always in need of help at receiver? I don't suspect Waddle's broken ankle will impact his draft stock much. He's already healed and was off to an incredible start -- 25 receptions, 557 yards and four touchdowns in four games -- after showing promise as a sophomore receiver and return man. A healthy Waddle is the most explosive all-around athlete at receiver in this class.
